The material is used specifically because it is the same exterior metal on most trailers. When compared with plastics used by other skirt fairing manufacturers, aluminum has a proven durability and stability over a long history in American trucking. It is easily machined and extruded and 3105 aluminum is manufactured with over 90% recycled material, making it earth friendly and “green.” Additionally, it can be recycled at the end of its lifecycle and be converted into new products through standard scrap metal channels.
