Portland's Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company Prospers During Slow Economic Times
Portland, Oregon (03/17/09) - Although times are tough for many Oregon businesses, Portland-based Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company is expected to have record sales this year and next year. In fact, Silver Eagle has already racked up $90 million in orders for 2009 and expects 2010 to be a banner year as well. This is due in part to several large orders by the U.S. military for the
company's Light Tactical Trailers (LTTs), which are designed to be towed behind military Humvees (HMMWV). The LTTs can be ordered in a variety of configurations to suit specific needs.
In January, 2009, Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company was awarded a $60 million LTT order, and in late February, an additional $30 million LTT order, both part of a five-year contract with the U.S. Army. In total, more than 10,600 LTTs are to be manufactured though 2010 at the
company's 77,000 square-foot Portland manufacturing facility.
Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company's president, Jay Wilson said, "Silver Eagle is very happy to be able to have great sales during what is a tough economic time for many Oregon businesses. We're excited about these recent orders and look forward to continuing our relationship with the U.S. Military."
In addition to its Light Tactical Trailers, Silver Eagle also manufactures converter dollies and fuel-saving aero products for the heavy trucking industry.
