A short history
The Eagle is not a new idea. It is the apex of an old one.
Silver Eagle has been building truck equipment in Portland, Oregon since 1933 — and converter dollies since 1955. Decades of refinement — better suspensions, better fifth wheels, better steel — have all flowed into the same product line. The Eagle is the modern version of the dolly that started it.
UPS, the U.S. Army, Frito-Lay, and Sysco have all pulled it — for many of them, as the prime specification. Every Eagle is welded, painted, and assembled on the same Portland factory floor where the original was built.
Why it pulls better
Three engineering decisions that show up in your fleet's P&L.

SUSPENSION
We pulled the load off the platform.
The Eagle's two-stage transverse leaf spring sits directly over the axle, not on a platform mount. Load travels straight through the spindle. The result is less wheel hop, less sway, and a quieter ride loaded or empty.
FIFTH WHEEL
Hook from the side. Every single time.
A front pull handle, a visual kingpin indicator, and a jaw that opens with half the exertion of a conventional fifth wheel. Cleaner hookups mean fewer high-pinning incidents — the mistake that injures drivers and idles equipment.

FRAME
Bolts, not welds. ¼-inch steel.
A bolt-together frame means a damaged crossmember gets replaced in the field — not cut out with a torch. Eleven stages of E-coat priming under a polyurethane topcoat seal the steel inside and out — including the cavities a spray gun never reaches.
Portland, Oregon · Since 1933
One family. One factory floor. Since 1933.
Silver Eagle has built truck equipment in Portland, Oregon since 1933 — and converter dollies continuously since 1955. Same shop floor. Same engineering discipline. The Eagle you order today is welded, E-coated, and assembled by the same team that builds the dollies for the U.S. Army and the country's largest parcel fleets.
The coupling principle under every Eagle traces to the company's own 1938 fifth-wheel patent — drawn, refined, and still built in the same city.
